CONSTRUCTION of students’ residence at the Manicaland State University of Applied Sciences (MSUAS)’ Fernhill main campus has commenced.

The development is expected to alleviate accommodation shortages for students at the higher-learning institution.

MSUAS director for marketing, information and public relations Mr Shingairai Moyo said the hostels, which will house 100 students each, are meant to ensure that there are good living standards for on-campus students which create a conducive learning environment.

Government has since commended the tremendous progress made by MSUAS in implementing various infrastructural projects that will drive the development of tertiary institutions despite the challenges brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The construction of hostels at MSUAS seeks to promote infrastructure development at the university in line with National Development Strategy 1.
