IT was a good day on the park yesterday for Zimbabwean sport as the national football, cricket and hockey teams recorded victories.

 

The Warriors concluded their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals campaign with a 2-1 victory over Guinea in Cameroon, while the women’s field hockey team recovered from a defeat to South Afrcia to put five past Uganda at another continental competition in Accra, Ghana.

 

The Chevrons overcame Sri Lanka with a 22-run victory

 

Zimbabwe’s women hockey team complete their Africa Cup of Nations Pool A games tomorrow with a date against Namibia.

 

Not to be outdone, the Chevrons also coasted to a deserved 22-run triumph over hosts Sri Lanka in a One Day International in Pallekele.

 

The Warriors picked their first victory in 15 years at the AFCON finals

 

This saw them level the series, to set the stage for what promises to be an intriguing battle in the decider.

 

The match outcomes were greeted with glee by sports enthusiasts across the country as they celebrated a rare triple delight.
