TALENTED musicians Trevor Dongo and Extra Large, fondly known as Maroja, will tomorrow (Saturday) invade Mutare for a potentially-explosive gig at Club Mandisa.

The duo will perform at the venue for the first time and are expected to give the club’s patrons a rare feel of soul music.

Dongo, whose music appeals to couples and individuals of all ages, put up a scintillating performance at the venue six months ago.

The gig attracted a full house. The partying spilled into the following morning.

The show promoter Boniface Nyamanhindi said all was set for Saturday’s gig.

“All is now in place for the event. The team is ready to deliver. As always, we will give our patrons real value for their money. Trevor has done well before and we are hosting him again together with Extra Large,” he said.

Dongo said he is ready to deliver a good show.

“I am coming to Mutare geared up for the gig. My fans must expect nothing, except real entertainment.

‘‘I will sample a couple of new songs. They are going to like the show,” he said.

Dongo is one of the most talented singers and song writers in Zimbabwe.

The talented crooner rose to stardom in 2001 after the release of his debut album “Ndozviita sei”.

The title track became an instant hit within weeks. Since then Dongo never looked back, releasing a string of hits such as “Tivanyadzise”, “Ruva Rashe”, “Takonana” and “Ndashamisika”, which, no doubt was one of the most popular tracks in 2012.

Extra Large (Jimmy Mngezi and Norman Manwere) rose to fame with the hit Uri Roja and they have promised to take fans down memory lane with their hit songs such as “Aiwa Mukoma”.
