SCHOOLS that will represent Manicaland in the 2019 edition of the annual Copa Coca Coca tournament will face a Herculean task in the national finals after the province was handed a tough draw on Wednesday.

The 31st edition of the annual national Copa Coca Cola Under 15 boys and girls football tournament was officially launched on Wednesday at Pamushana High School in Masvingo.

This year’s tournament is the 31st edition for the boys and 9th edition for the girls.

Pamushana are the defending champions for the boys and Nyamauru High School from Dangamvura, the defending champions for the girls.

Nyamauru are likely to face Chidyamakono in the girls’ category after being drawn in the same group.

The Copa Coca Cola tournament has been the launch pad for the careers of  some of finest footballers to come out of Mutare such as former Warriors goalkeeper Washington Arubi and Mighty Warriors striker Maud Mafuruse.

This year’s tournament kicks off with zonal games on May 24 and the district competition is slated for June 7.

The provincial finals are scheduled for June 28, culminating into the national finals to run from July 11 to 13 in Mashonaland West.
