TWO of Mutare’s finest musicians Tony D and Juicer Mpostori have released two potentially hit songs titled “Murudo” and “Meyo Kwinjo” as they step up efforts to popularise their brands beyond borders.

Tony D who boasts more than a decade in the music fraternity roped in the equally experienced Juicer to release a thought-provoking and love ballad titled “Murudo”, which encourages people in relationships to put love first, stand strong and be patient with each other. Juicer Mpostori’s husky voice and Tony D’s silky voice all combined in one make the song unique and listenable. Meyo Kwinjo is a danceable track presented in a jiti and contemporary flair and is a gem dedicated to Castle Lager premiership soccer league outfit Ngezi Platinum where Tony D is currently based. The two artistes co-coined both songs.

The diversity will surely scale their separate careers to dizzy heights if the singles are well marketed. Tony D, whose real name is Robert Tondoya, revealed that they will drop videos for both songs before year end.

“We have so far launched the singles at several radio stations and the big one will be our launch in Mutare at leading radio station Diamond FM. We have performed at several hotspots such as Club Apple in Harare and Norton and we aim to popularise the tracks.

We are happy with the response we have received so far and we are planning something special for our beloved Mutare when we present the singles. Collaborating with Juicer is quite a remarkable development. He is a talented guy whose artistic prowess is up there. He is a creative artiste whom I will continue to work with,” said the Taxi Driver hit-maker.

Tony D, who is the founder of Zim dancehall stable, Dancehall Greatest Records, said he recently released singles “Calypso” and “Nginde Nginde”, which are Christmas presents for his fans.

“The release of these four singles marks the comeback of Dancehall Greatest Records. We will continue to record and release tracks and make our fans happy. I always encourage my fans and fellow musicians to work hard and be responsible entertainers,” he added.
