THE true prince of Dendera, Sulumani Chimbetu is in the studio putting final touches on a new album that will be laced with a potentially-explosive and controversial track titled ‘Ndunge’.

The song warns people against seeking money-spinning or lucky-enhancing charms and is inspired by the aftermath of the demise of internationally acclaimed Chipinge n’anga Charles Makhuyana Ndunge.

When Sekuru Ndunge succumbed to diabetes early March, thousands of his clients stampeded his Southdowns homestead either to surrender or seek permission to continue using his luck-enhancing paraphernalia.

In an interview on the sidelines of a sold out gig where he performed alongside Jah Prayzah at The Platinum last Friday, Sulu said he was overwhelmed by the support from his fans in Mutare.

Sulu and Jah Prayzah two are the country’s most sought after artistes.

The two have come of ages, and strap their stuff like gospel, and that explains why the pair’s presence and their ‘must-see’ backing groups aroused a lot of interest among music lovers in the city.

Sulu and his energetic Orchestra Dendera Kings curved a niche to always deliver, and as expected, he dug from his wealth of experience to appease his legions of fans.

The Sean Timba a.k.a Batai Munhu hit-maker had his trademark mob-fascinating magnetism intact.

Add the towering Jah Prayzah, whose real name is Mukudzei Mukombe, to the equation, and you come up with a match made in heaven.

They are both revered for their athleticism and perfect choreographies.

The two know their stuff, and poured blood, sweat and tears into their acts.

Sulu put the icing on the cake by sampling the song ‘Ndunge’.

The song was an instant hit. In a rare show of embracement, the fans demanded that the song be played again.

Not once or twice.

Sulu was thrice, at different intervals, forced to play the song.

Judging by the response to the song, Sulu has struck the right code.

The forthcoming also album contains captivating songs such as Bvuma Kusara, Socks, Kwazivai Mambo and Mai Soko, among others.

“The response I received from my fans in Mutare was overwhelming. I couldn’t believe it, it was a thunderous reception.

“The forthcoming album is nearing completion; we are putting some final touches to it. We have been sampling songs from the forthcoming album during our live shows, and realised that the song Ndunge was the most appealing and popular one. People love it, locally and internationally. I will say more about this song and others when the album hit the streets,” he said.
