AFTER his strike propelled Ngezi Platinum Stars into the semi-finals of the Chibuku Super Cup, Sakubva-bred striker Nyasha Chintuli is keeping his eyes on the ball as his team chases glory.

The Mhondoro side got the better of Chicken Inn last Saturday at Boabab Stadium with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory, with the revitalised Denver Mukamba and Chintuli on target.

Chintuli was partnered in attack by another fellow footballer from Mutare, AnelkaChivandire, before the later was substituted shortly after the hour mark.

The former grabbed the winner by getting to the end of a perfect cross by the in-form Bruno Mtigo to bury his effort with a looping header at the back post as Rodwell Dhlakama’s charges wrested control of the game.

And the gifted gunslinger believes they have what it takes to go all the way and clinch gold in the country’s knockout competition.

“We are inspired to win this cup after narrowly losing in the final in the last edition. It has been an exciting challenge so far and lifting the trophy will make up for that disappointment,” said Chintuli.

He added that he is enjoying his game and delighted to be contributing to the team’s cause.

Said the La Sakubva juniors product: “Scoring goals is my job. I am happy to be doing well and helping the team in pursuit of its targets. This boosts my confidence and puts me in the right frame of mind and good shape as we prepare for the Premiership season’s imminent kick off.”
