A 36-YEAR-OLD Rusape man last week committed suicide by hanging himself following an argument with his wife over money.

Paradzai Nyamanhindi, of NE 276 in Vengere, Rusape hanged himself from a roof beam with a wire.

The Manica Post received information that Nyamanhindi had moulded bricks valued at USD$500 and spent the proceeds with another woman without his wife’s knowledge.

Nyamanhindi allegedly gave his wife $300 for their two children’s school fees.

It is said that instead of paying school fees for two children, the wife only paid for one child and all hell broke loose.

The couple had a serious argument to the extent that the wife left her matrimonial home for the rural areas, leaving the husband with the children.

Rusape police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Muzondiwa Clean confirmed Nyamanhindi’s death.

“On September 7, around 6am, Tinotenda Nyamanhindi, the son of the deceased, woke up in the morning and went to the bedroom. He found a blanket hanging from the roof near the window. When he removed the blanket, he found his father hanging with a wire. He was already dead, and a report was immediately made to the police. The police went to the homestead and took the body to the mortuary,” said Asst Insp Clean.

He urged members of the public to avoid considering suicide as a solution.

He said people should involve third parties and seek counselling.
