PREACHER-turned-musician Prophet Tapiwa Freddy is humbled by the overwhelming and positive response his newly released album — “Kastep Kenyasha” — is receiving from several radio stations in Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
One of Prophet Freddy’s hit song “Munyama wegonzo” has been seated on the pole position at the leading local radio station Diamond FM weekly Gospel Super 20 show hosted by Peter Madondo, also fondly known as Uncle Pee.
Other songs that are fairly doing well on the charts are “Mirira” (Tembalami), “Tirikufamba” (Mathias Mhere featuring Jah Prayzah), “Zvivimbiso” (Dorcas Moyo) and “Ndozvinoita Nyasha” (Jonah Chivasa featuring Chelsea).
“KaStep keNyasha” is Prophet Freddy’s fourth album.
The album is laden with inspiring, humorous and uplifting songs.
Other songs on the album include “Nezuro Haasi Nhasi” (featuring Mhere), “Hupenyu” (featuring Kudzi Nyakudya), “Mweya Mutsvene”, “Kuchata Kwakanaka” and the bonus track “Chikuru Kudzoka”, which features Baba Harare.
Prophet Freddy told The Weekender Entertainment that he was overwhelmed by the positive feedback his album is receiving countrywide, particularly in the eastern border city of Mutare.
He also vowed to come up with more inspiring songs.
The video for one of his hit songs — “Bag rangu” — is already trending on social media.
Prophet Freddy, on the song, castigates fake friends who are only after his money and wealth.
“Mutare is my second home and I really appreciate the support. It’s true we are receiving positive feedback from Mutare and neighbouring Mozambique. We are working on producing more CD copies so that our fans can easily access the album. As a result of the overwhelming support, we are also considering spreading our tentacles to and establish a church in Mutare. This is one way of making a presence closer to our ardent fans,” said Prophet Freddy.
Prophet Freddy is the founder and leader of Goodness and Mercy Ministries.
Some of his previous albums include “Tinopembera”, “Rudo” and “Vana”.
