THE first pack of deejays to host Old Skool music in Zimbabwe — Kudzi ‘‘Mr Kool’’ Marudza and Witness ‘‘Chuman’’ Matema — will team up to bring back yesteryear music at Family fun Day at Mutare Main Bath this Saturday.

The two will be supported by local wheel spinners, youthful DJ Zintronix, DJ Ranga, DJ Lampy and Hollies B. The show dubbed: Old Skool vs New Skool, is expected to attract fun lovers of all ages. The family show starts at 12pm while the clash between the Old Skool and New Skool starts at 6pm till the last man drops. Children will have their fair share of entertainment as there will be jumping castles, face printings and water slides, among others while adults will have a beer binge coupled by pool side braai and music from the wheel spinners.

The carnival is the brainchild of Generations Pub and Grill and Huggies Entertainment. The latter is co-owned by Marudza and Matema and was formed in 2006. The duo commands a huge and mature following in old skool classics. This is the first time in Mutare after many months, will host such a high profile open air entertainment and the organisers are expecting a bumper crowd to throng the venue. Entrance fee is $5.

“We are looking forward to an exciting and refreshing family outing. We realised that Mutare has been starved of open air entertainment, and we are urging parents and guardians to come in number with their children. Old Skool music has a lot of followers, so we are expecting revellers of all ages to be part of the event. Celebrities and socialites from Mutare and Harare are expected to be part of the extravaganza,” said one of the organisers.
