NEW: Nurture talented youths, YW4ED urged Mrs Kudhlande

YOUNG Women for Economic Development (YW4ED) Manicaland Chapter has been urged to play a critical role in nurturing young girls with different talents in schools in Chimanimani and other areas.

Speaking during the official launch of Chimanimani FM in Chimanimani yesterday, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Cde Monica Mutsvangwa said: “We urge the Young Women for Economic Development Manicaland Chapter to get into schools, empower and nurture talents of young girls in schools in Chimanimani and in Manicaland Province as a whole. There are a lot of these young people with different talents. They need to be supported and be nurtured at a tender age,” she said.

YW4ED Manicaland Chapter was represented by its  chairperson, Mrs Patricia Kudhlande.

Young girls and boys from surrounding schools in Chimanimani provided entertainment such as poems and traditional dances which spiced up the colourful okccasion.

 

The event was attended by hundreds of people from different walks of life.

Chimanimani FM community radio station, which is accessible at 100.0 on the FM dial, is now the second operational radio station in Manicaland after Nyangani FM.
