COMMERCIAL activity at Muchena Business Centre in Mutasa South continues to thrive, providing the tonic for economic development in the area.

In an interview, Ward 26 councillor, Councillor Lionel Mawoyo, said the boom in business is also boosting livelihoods for villagers in the surrounding communities.

“We are experiencing heightened commercial activity in Muchena Ward 26 of Mutasa South, with old businesses expanding and new ones being established.

“The livelihoods of local villagers are also expected to flourish as a result of the booming commercial enterprises at the business centre. We are expecting increased economic growth in the district, with the development also contributing to the province’s GDP,” said Cllr Mawoyo.

He added that the increasing commercial activity in the area has led to the establishment of another business centre at Tsvarai, which is also set for growth.

Cllr Mawoyo said the farming, timber and mining sectors have contributed immensely to the growth of the local businesses.

This, he said, represents a huge and positive economic outlook for Mutasa South.
