THE ZANU PF National Women’s League has confirmed Senator Dorothy Mabika as the substantive chairwoman of the league in Manicaland.

Cde Mabika fills in the vacancy left by Cde Happiness Nyakuedzwa, who was sacked last year.

National secretary for Women’s Affairs in the ZANU PF Politburo, Cde Marble Chinomona, confirmed the latest position in a letter dated April 15, 2025 to ZANU PF Manicaland provincial chairman, Cde Tawanda Mukodza.

“We would like to inform you that the Women’s League received a report on the co-option of Manicaland Provincial Women’s League chairwoman, conducted on April 6, 2025. Cde Dorothy Mabika emerged the winner.

“We are writing to confirm and endorse Cde Dorothy Mabika as the substantive provincial chairwoman for Manicaland Province with immediate effect,” reads part of the letter, also copied to the party’s Secretary General, Dr Obert Mpofu, National Political Commissar, Cde Munyaradzi Machacha, Secretary for Administration in the Women’s League, Cde Monica Mutsvangwa and Cde Mabika, among others.

Cde Mabika has since expressed her gratitude and humility upon being elected as the provincial women’s league boss, saying she was “humbled” by the opportunity.

As she takes on her new role, Cde Mabika aims to enhance the welfare of women in Manicaland through various empowerment projects, demonstrating her dedication to creating positive change and improving the lives of those around her.
