JUDICIAL Services Commission (JSC) secretary, Mr Walter Chikwanha, has praised magistrates in Manicaland Province for expeditiously executing their duties, and timely finalising cases before the courts.
Mr Chikwanha made the remarks during a luncheon at Mutare High Court this afternoon after completing a monitoring and evaluation mission in the province.
“We traversed the length and breadth of the province, and I wish to advise you Hnourable Chief Justice Malaba that the visit has been successful. It was meant to monitor and evaluate the performances of our courts, and attend to urgent needs of our courts and our staff.
“I wish to advise you, Chief Justice, that what was quite pleasing, was the consciousness of our magistrates in Manicaland in terms of disposal of matters. We noted a refreshing attitude of magistrates who are working tirelessly to make sure that when members of the public come to our courts, they want cases finalised timeously, irrespective of outcome,” he said.
The monitoring and evaluation exercise is a routine practice that is carried out by the JSC across the country to enhance judicial service delivery.
