Lloyd Mutasa, the head coach of the club, in a recent interview with the Post Sport, said he aims to finish among the top four teams in the land and he feels that preparations are going on well.

“We have recruited from far and wide and our hopes are that the players will gel as we step up our preparations for the new season,” said the soft-spoken gaffer.

Asked about the local talent utilisation, the coach said he believes in local talent to bolster the team as well as leave a legacy for the newly promoted team.

“Yes, we are looking at players from Checheche-based teams as well as others from the district. We have some guys from Rafaekola, a Division Two team, we are assessing. Our presence in the Premier Soccer League should act as a catalyst for soccer development in Chipinge and Chisumbanje to be specific,” he said.

He was not at liberty to disclose the names of his new recruits, although he said some of the new players boast Premier League and Division One experience.

“I am not going to let the cat out of the bag as yet concerning the names of the new players for we have to tie the loose ends first concerning the moves,” he said.

This weekend, Greenfuel face the Sugar Boys – Triangle – a friendly match.
