THE ZIFA Eastern Region Soccer League (ERSL) will announce their decision on which team is being promoted from Division One into the Premiership by end of day tomorrow (Monday).
This follows lengthy closed door deliberations yesterday in Mutare on the contentious outcome of the match pitting Bikita Minerals and Grayham wherein the former lodged a complaint pertaining to the use of an unregistered player by their opponents in the season’s final match.
Owing to that, the lithium miners feel they deserve to be given maximum points, a development that will propel them to the apex of the ERSL Division One and automatically given them the sole Premiership promotion ticket.
In an interview this morning, following yesterday’s deliberations that started in the morning and came to an end towards midnight, ERSL chairperson Davison Muchena said: “We have finished deliberating on the matter and what we are now doing is forwarding our minutes of yesterday’s meeting as well as our decision to relevant offices that will guide us on way forward. After that we will communicate with the clubs involved before going public. We should be through with the whole process by end of day on Monday.”
Even though grapevine has it that the ERSL established that Grayham used an illegible player, it is not yet clear whether they went on to award maximum point to Bikita Minerals or they just dock three points from Grayham and impose a fine on the offender.
