RED-HOT striker Fortune Binzi was on target again as his late goal rescued a point for Manica Diamonds after they forced a 2-2 stalemate against reigning champions FC Platinum in a Castle Lager Premiership match played at Mandava Stadium this afternoon.

Binzi struck 10 minutes from time, to take his tally to six in three matches, as the Gem Boys recovered from 2-0 down to a salvage a valuable point. Gerald Bhero scored the visitors’ other goal from the penalty spot in the 65th minute.

The result lifts the diamond miners into fourth position with 12 points from eight games, tied with FC Platinum who occupy fifth place. They are three points adrift of log leaders CAPS United after today’s games.

Meanwhile, GreenFuel’s quest to climb from the relegation zone received a boost after they collected a point in a 0-0 draw against ZPC Kariba at Gibbo Stadium.

This is the second successive game the ethanol producers have avoided defeat and kept a clean sheet since seasoned coach Rodwell Dhlakama took over following the sacking of Lloyd Mutasa and Bekithemba Ndlovu.
