VETERAN goalkeeper Washington Arubi’s good form between the sticks is continuing after playing a starring role when his team Marumo Gallants chalked up an important 2-1 victory over Cape Town City in the South African DStv Premiership weekend fixtures.
This is the second win in four games since the Sakubva-bred ex-Warriors shotstopper reclaimed his place in the Limpopo side’s starring XI.
The weekend result helped Marumo Gallants maintain their revival and steer them away from relegation trouble.
They have now climbed up from the foot of the table to 11th position on the 16-team log standings.
With two victories, a draw and a narrow 1-0 loss to defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in their last four games, Marumo Gallants have amassed 13 points in 12 matches.
Their good form has coincided with Arubi’s return to action.
Arubi said their goal this season is to avoid the chop and finish as high above the table as they can.
