Mutare attends to 60 suspected cholera cases

MUTARE City health department has attended to 60 suspected cholera cases since the outbreak of the epidemic was reported in Harare a fortnight ago.

Mutare City Council spokesperson Mr Spren Mutiwi said none of the suspected cases had turned out positive so there was no need for people to panic.

“We have attended to 60 suspected cases of cholera in Mutare. None of the reported cases tested positive. Most patients were treated and discharged,” he said.

Mr Mutiwi said that out of the 60 cases, 23 patients were still admitted at Mutare Infectious Disease Hospital undergoing treatment.
