GOSPEL artiste Agartha Murudzwa is set to break with tradition by releasing the first ever single in her decorated evangelical career early this year to get believers start 2020 on a spiritual note.
The “Semafashamo” singer — who has been ministering through music for over a decade — is readying her latest offering titled “Mweya Wangu Pfuura”, a production inspired by the Christian life, journey as well as the Holy Spirit.
Due out on January 31, the single comes hot on the heels of her last studio album, “It Is Well”, released last April.
The song is an exhortation to the pious to remain steadfastly devoted to the Creator in the face of trying times.
She said: “This track touches on real-life issues, encouraging the followers of Christ to retain firm faith in Him no matter the hardships.
“Even during biblical times, people went through hardships and it is going through that ‘kishon’ which inspired the song. ‘Mweya Wangu Pfuura’ derives its theme from Judges Chapter 4, Verse 21, where we are urged to march on with strength in our souls.
“Because no situation is frightening or too big for God to solve and overcome, even as a similar circumstance may have broken or destroyed others before, through the love and power of Jesus we can receive His blessings.
“With the world in turmoil, we can only turn to the Holy Spirit to direct our paths, help us hold on and see us sail through.
“His grace abounds and can never fail us and as such we need to soldier on even under the most difficult of conditions.
“As we begin this new year, Zimbabwe has to always carry that message with her throughout 2020 and beyond,” she explained.
“Mweya Wangu Pfuura” was produced at VOT Studios.
