NOTHING beats this! No leisure menu matches having Chimurenga icon Thomas Mapfumo performing in your hood for the first time in 16 years.

Yes, it is confirmed!

Mukanya will descend on Mutare for a peace bira on December 21.

The bira will be held at Manicaland Motoring Club. It kicks off at 8pm.

Advance tickets are selling at $20 and are acquired on <http://www.clicknpay.africa> while those who pay at the gate will fork out $30.

Nothing beats this and you can expect a sell-out crowd because Mukanya knows his stuff and when on stage pours blood, sweat and tears into his act.

Mukanya and his energetic Blacks Unlimited last weekend performed at the White City Hall in Bulawayo, where he curved a niche as a deliver par excellence, and expectations are high that he will dig from his wealth of experience and have his trademark mob-fascinating magnetism intact when he descends on the eastern border city.

Mukanya and his band are revered for athleticism, mature sound projection and perfect choreographies.

The dread-locked artiste also warrants mentioning as a thoughtful composer and galvanising force.

Whether you have seen him on stage before, you will still want to re-capture his live magic again because he knows his stuff.

He knows how to re-define and bring it to life in congruency with the expectations of his restive fans.

His fusion of innovative dancing techniques, natural charisma and guitar strumming skills of his guitarists has greatly helped to distinguish him as international franchise holder of the Chimurenga genre.

The United States-based veteran musician is expected to first perform at Caravan Park on December 15.

After the Mutare gig, he will then proceed to Kadoma for a show at Odyssey Hotel and then Kariba where he will perform at Nyamhunga Stadium.

He will also perform in the resort town of Victoria Falls before the curtains come down on his tour with the mother-of-all performance in the capital at Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).

Mukanya’s publicist Blessing Vava said they were more than ready for the Mutare bira.

“It’s exciting to be coming to Mutare for the bira after close to two decades.

“We are happy to reconnect with our fans Mutare and we expect thousands of our fans to come and embrace the legend.

“He is on top of his musical form and I am sure our fans in Mutare have heard about the top drawer act he delivered in Bulawayo.

It was a massive show and we are looking forward to a great concert.

“We have put everything in place so fans should come in their numbers and eat from his palm on the bira,” he said.
