ZIMBABWE got their Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifying campaign off to a promising start after clobbering Eswatini 3-1 at the National Sports Stadium yesterday.
The result gives the Mighty Warriors the advantage going into the second leg set for Tuesday away in Mbabane.
Marjory Nyaumwe, Priviledge Mupeti and skipper Emmaculate Msipa were on target for the home team before the visitors pulled one back to give the hosts a 3-1 lead going into half-time.
The second half produced no goals.
Mighty Warriors coach Sithethelelwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda was happy with the result and hopes they will get a positive outcome in the return fixture good enough to power them into the next round of the qualifiers.
“It is a safe score line; remember when we go there we will take a different approach,” she said.
The winner between Zimbabwe and Eswatini will face who comes out victorious between Angola and Botswana in the last qualifying round.
