A MUTARE married man who has had enough of violent tantrums from his extra-marital lover’s other boyfriend has approached the courts for protection.

All this was revealed when Joshua Mupambwi dragged Shorai Buwerimwe to the Mutare Civil Courts where he was praying for protection.

Mupambwi told the court that Buwerimwe was in the habit of assaulting, insulting and threatening him whenever they met.

He also told the court that Buwerimwe had poked him in the eyes when he had seen him walking with his extra-marital lover.

They appeared before Mutare magistrate, Ms Anniah Ndiraya.

“As we speak, Buwerimwe is threatening to tell the news that I have a lover to my wife and now I am left with nothing else to do, but seek refuge from the law.

“Each time I meet him, he becomes violent and threatens to tell my wife that I am having an affair with his girlfriend. I do not want him to see me or my wife, neither do I want him to greet me when he sees me.

“Your Worship, I have had enough of this man only because that we are dating one girlfriend. If it is possible, let him be barred from talking to me and my wife whom he is yet to meet,” said the distressed Mupambwi.

Buwerimwe, however, insisted that he was the one who was in need of a protection order from the court.

“He snatched my lover from me Your Worship and he is the one who is threatening me. He calls me on numerous occasions and each time I call my girlfriend’s number, he picks it up and orders me to stop talking to her or face the consequences.

“He made a false report to the police against me and I was arrested. He lied that I had assaulted him, yet it was a misunderstanding that occurred between the two of us,” said Buwerimwe.

In her ruling, Ms Ndiraya ordered the pair to be at peace with each other and granted a binding protection order that bars both men from disturbing the other’s peace.
