FOUR pool teams that represented Manicaland at the just-ended Zimbabwe Pool Association national champions league finals held in Marondera over the weekend failed to make it into the money spinning round of the annual tournament.
Soul City and Complex Stars were booted out in the group stages while Rozvi Empire and Villa Spot progressed to the round of 16.
Villa Spot, who were new comers to the finals, were beaten by last year’s title holders Padombo from Chitungwiza while Rozvi Empire narrowly lost to Battery Exide from Harare.
MPL chairman, Fungai Makoni, praised the four teams for their participation.
“Overly I am satisfied by the performance put up by team Manicaland. They braved the finest to get results they got. Of course there are many lessons learnt during the past weekend in as far as precision in taking the game is concerned,” he said.
The tournament was eventually won by Tigers Pool Club from Chitungwiza while Pahukama Pool Club from Harare came second.
