ALL is set for the second edition of The Manica Post Ladies Summer School, scheduled for today at Murambi East Villa in Mutare.

The event, which is expected to draw women from all walks of life, will be held under the theme ‘You’re Royalty’.

Prominent female speakers lined up to address delegates include legal practitioner, Ms Rumbidzai Newengo; properties owner, businesswoman, mentor and writer, Ms Susan Peters; as well as Mrs Caroline Marufu-Buwu, a veteran model who won the Miss Tourism Zimbabwe title in 2007.

Island Hospice will also speak on breast cancer awareness, while the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) will speak on retirement plans.

According to the organisers, the Ladies Summer School is tailor-made to empower women with knowledge on the country’s laws and business opportunity ideas.

One of the organisers, The Manica Post Editor, Mrs Wendy Nyakurerwa-Matinde said, “In this world we live in, you cannot expect the next person to hand over everything you need on a silver platter. It simply doesn’t work like that.

“As women, we have to empower ourselves with knowledge and then get up and do the work to get to where we want to be,” said Mrs Nyakurerwa-Matinde.

“Last year was a huge success and we are picking up from where we left and going a step further,” she said.

A ticket is going for US$50 and those who are yet to secure a seat can go to Murambi East Villa for registration.
