A 36-YEAR-OLD man was last week gruesomely murdered by a colleague at a Headlands farm following a misunderstanding over dagga.

Joseph Majoni was hit with a brick by Munyaradzi Garikai several times on the head.

He died upon admission at Headlands Clinic.

Police confirmed the case that happened at Doverleigh Farm in Headlands last week.

“Majoni and Garikai were smoking dagga at the farm when a misunderstanding arose, thereby leading to a fight between them. A colleague only identified as Edmore intervened and stopped the two’s fight,” said Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luxson Chananda.

However, Garikai allegedly took a brick and hit Majoni’s head.

“A colleague, Oliver Nyamanyu, saw Majoni bleeding profusely. He took him to Headlands Clinic and he died upon admission. Garikai was arrested and is assisting police with investigations,” said Inspector Chananda.

He urged members of the public to solve disputes amicably to avoid loss of lives.

Meanwhile, a Honde Valley man who was on the run on allegations of axing his wife to death was found hanging from a tree branch last week on Friday.

Nicholas Mupfawa’s body was found in a state of decomposition about 150 metres away from the couple’s homestead.

The incident took place in Murandahaaidiumwe Village under Chief Mutasa.

lt is suspected that Mupfawa committed suicide soon after axing his teenage wife – Moreblessing Marombo.
