A MARANGE man will do 220 hours of unpaid work after he was found guilty of assaulting his parents and grandfather over witchcraft allegations.

Evan Mutudza (23) told the court that he was so sure that one of the three complainants had caused deformations on his body through witchcraft.

He said he assaulted them after they refused to go with him to spiritual healers.

“Your Worship, I have growths all over my body and they keep growing. All I wanted was for them as my parents and grandparents to help me by accompanying me to traditional healers so that we know the source of my problems.

“They proved that they are the cause of my problems after they refused to take me to the traditional healers. I was left with no option, but to assault them,” he said.

Mr Innocent Bepura found him guilty as charged.
