Maid steals from employer

Goods worth $28 000 were recovered following the maid's arrest

A 19-YEAR-OLD woman was sentenced to perform 360 hours of community service by a Mutare court after being found guilty of stealing from her employer.

Nyasha Sendeza of GaranevakoVillage, in Marange pleaded guilty to theft charges when she appeared before Mutare magistrate Ms Prisca Manhibi.

Prosecutor Ms Tafadzwa Chiwanza told the court that Sendeza stole from Patricia Mbambo (40) of Dangamvura, who had employed her as a maid.

“On December 15 last year, the complaint left home for work. The accused unlawfully took an Itel S16 cellphone, four t-shirts, one skirt, two pairs of trousers, three pairs of tracksuits, one bottle of perfume, one pair of pink tekkies and four rompers,” said Mrs Chiwanza.

The value of stolen goods was $43 000.

Goods worth $28 000 were recovered following the arrest of Sendeza on December 24.
