MUTARE-BORN Kaizer Chiefs workhorse Willard Katsande put up a commanding midfield show to help Amakhosi to a 3-2 victory over Golden Arrows in the South African DStv Premiership last night.
The former Warriors captain marked his return to the starting XI with an inspirational performance that saw him provide an assist as his team drew level to 1-1 in the opening stanza before being substituted on 83 minutes.
Goalkeeper Washington Arubi, another player from the eastern border city, was in goals for Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila and kept a clean sheet in their 0-0 draw against fellow strugglers Chippa United. The seasoned short-stopper has been in fine form all season. His team, who are Nedbank Cup champions, are, however, still battling to escape relegation.
Another veteran of the game Onismor Bhasera, who also hails from Sakubva, was an unused substitute and watched from the bench as his SuperSport United overpowered Maritzburg United 2-0.
All teams in the division play their final matches of the season on Saturday to conclude the 2020-2021 campaign (Kaizer Chiefs vs TS Galaxy; Tshakhuma vs Orlando Pirates; SuperSport United vs Chippa United).
