MUNICIPAL owned side, Mutare City Rovers have re-hired the services of their ex-coach Kennedy “Bokande” Kachara. He is expected to guide Gusha Bhora against Chiredzi Stars this weekend.

Kachara led Gusha Bhora into the PSL in 2015 and 2017. He will be deputised by former Warriors midfielder Shepherd Muradzikwa.

Gusha Bhora manager Lyndon Kanyemba confirmed that Bokande is back at the municipal owned side.

“It is true that we appointed him as our new coach. He is not new to the club’s structures. We are still running with our quest to gain promotion. The race is still wide open. Bokande decided to bring his own assistant coach and we cannot go against his wishes as every coach is allowed to choose his own assistants. We did not fire Ndega Matsika but Bokande preferred to bring in Muradzikwa,” said Kanyemba.

Five years ago,  Kachara the then Mutare City Rovers coach, built a formidable squad that went on to  dominate the Zifa Eastern region Division 1 soccer league and gained promotion into the elite league. Sadly, he did not reap the fruits of his expertise  as he was fired in 2016  and was replaced by Joseph Takaringofa.

Gusha Bhora went on to be relegated  end of  2016 season. Kachara was reintroduced in 2017 and he guided the team back into the top flight and was sent packing  in May last year.

Kachara was the assistant coach, but officially disguised as the kit manager.

The decision to have him listed as the team’s kit manager on official match day team sheets was a deliberate ploy to allow him to sit on the bench and command the troops since he does not have the requisite CAF A qualification.

Today, Kachara  is back at the helm of Gusha Bhora, where he is expected to transform the team for the better.

Meanwhile, it is anyone’s game this Saturday as Lovemore Mapuya’s Chipinge United faces  Melfort.

Team of the moment Tenax FC who have transformed themselves from being perennial braid maids will travel to Marondera for a date with Surrey FC.

Green Fuels, who have not been at their best this season, will travel to Renco for a date with Renco Mine.

United Lions will face Buffaloes while Mwenezana will host Ruwa. Bikita Minerals will play against new boys Grayham and Masvingo United with  face  another new side FC Makaha.
