VETERAN football tactician, Saul Chaminuka will open his account as the new GreenFuel FC head coach against Manica Diamonds at GreenFuel Sports Arena – exactly a week after clashing with the Gem Boys at Sakubva Stadium with his immediate past employers – Bikita Minerals.

In his new role at GreenFuel FC, the former Buffaloes and Eastern Lions gaffer will be assisted by Taurai Mangwiro and Innocent Chogugudza as goalkeepers’ coach.

GreenFuel FC boss, Fred Moyo confirmed Chaminuka’s appointment and expressed hope that they will achieve the set goals under the new gaffer.

“Saul Chaminuka is now with us as the head coach, and will be assisted by Taurai Mangwiro and Innocent Chogugudza as the goalkeepers’ coach in the new technical set-up.

“We are happy to have finally snatched him after a number of clubs had expressed interest in signing him. No doubt, he is a very good coach, and we hope to achieve the goals we set out for ourselves under his tutelage,” said Moyo.

Only last Sunday, Chaminuka was at the receiving end as his Bikita Minerals suffered a one-nil defeat at the hands of Manica Diamonds at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare.

That was his last game at the helm of Bikita Minerals.

Chaminuka left the lithium miners to join GreenFuel FC following head coach, Rodwell Dhlakama’s exit from the Ethanol Boys’ camp during the course of the week.

And this coming Sunday, Manica Diamonds coach, Jairos Tapera and Chaminuka will clash again at the GreenFuel Arena as GreenFuel FC entertains the visiting Gem Boys in a potentially-explosive Castle Lager Premiership encounter.

For the two coaches, it is like a halftime score line that reads: Jairos Tapera 1– 0 Saul Chaminuka!
And Tapera is aware of what awaits his team at the GreenFuel Sports Arena.

“Playing GreenFuel FC has been very competitive and interesting for us. Now that they have brought in a very strong new technical team it makes the match more exciting and interesting for our supporters.

“But you know we are Manica Diamonds, we have our own way of play, and the Gem Boys’ way will always prevail. We are busy with preparations and hope for a positive result, come weekend,” he said.
