Jah Signal to perform at Sun City

YOUTHFUL Zim dancehall chanter Jah Signal Child will make a sensational return to Mutare for a gig at Sun City tonight (Friday).

The venue, popularly known as PaBako, is situated in the sprawling suburb of Sakubva and has been hosting several Harare-based Zim dancehall artistes such as Sniper, Shinsoman, Soul Jah Love and Silent Killer. A legion of imbibers and pleasure seekers are in for a treat as the venue will be hosting the first major gig this year. He has also shared the stage with established local and regional artistes such as Jah Prayzah, Anthony B and Cassper Nyovest.

Jah Signal, born Nicodemus Mutize, mooted his musical career in 2011 with sing along tracks such as Honour Ladies. He has however popularised his brand with the signature tune, “Tirarira, Inini ndini ndarira.” Some of his popular songs include Mukwasha imboko, Yekedero, Dhora, Fashion Police, Cockroach, Ebube and Wakavingei. He has also done collaborations with Tocky Vibes and Dr Tawanda. His lyrics are inspired by his humble background as well as social issues that affect people’s day-to-day life experiences. The organiser of the show Givens Shumba said the event starts at 8pm and will run till the last man drops.

“This is the beginning of greater things ahead. We have previously hosted artistes such as Shinsoman, Progress Chipfumo, Sulumani Chimbetu and Sniper among others and we would like to inform our fans that we are going to bring more new faces. The show is on and we are urging music lovers, particularly Zim dancehall fans, to come in numbers and enjoy the youthful chanter’s performances,” he said.
