ALTHOUGH contemporary musician, Jah Prayzah is used to such reception, his sold out gig at Mandel Club, Watsomba, last Friday will forever linger not only in his mind, but scores of fans who thronged the venue despite heavy rains that characterised the night.

“Musoja”, as the “Kutonga Kwaro” hitmaker is affectionately known by his legion of fans, impressed about 1 800 revellers who turned up for the show.

Jah Signal added colour to the night of bliss. He was the first on stage and did not disappoint.

Musoja put up a polished act that kept revellers on their feet up to the late hours of Saturday night. The fans danced their feet lame and sang their voices hoarse and drank the bar dry.

The venue was full to capacity and some people had to enjoy the show while outside the gallery.

Not even the rains that fell between 11pm and 4am dampened the spirits of revellers

The show was set to end at 6am, but was cut short by three hours due to heavy rains.

Jah Prayzah’s manager Keen Mushapaidze commended the show organisers for giving them an opportunity to connect with their Watsomba fans.

“It was a good show and we were impressed by the crowds that turned up. It is a good venue and we have many fans in Watsomba.

“We hope to come back soon and put up another memorable show. We are also grateful to the show organisers for giving us such an opportunity,” he said.

Show organiser, Lovemore Mwandimutsira, was the happiest man of the night. The show was meant to celebrate his 40th birthday.

“I am shocked. The response exceeded my expectations. I was overwhelmed and I would like to promise fun lovers that they will be lots of fun in near future. Alick Macheso is coming next before Progress Chipfumo and other Zim Dancehall chanters,” he said.
