OVER 400 hoteliers from across the country are in Mutare for this year’s Hospitality Association of Zimbabwe national conference which started yesterday at the Holiday Inn.

The event is being held under the theme: “Hospitality stepping into the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.

Minister of Environment, Climate Change Tourism and Hospitality Industry Nqobizita Mangaliso Ndlovu is expected to officially open the event which ends tomorrow.

The delegates curtained up the event by planting trees along Robert Mugabe Road near Park Road on Wednesday before they gathered at Golden Peacock Villa Hotel later in the day for a cocktail party where they exchanged notes and built synergies.

Last year’s HAZ conference was held in Victoria Falls.

The Annual General Meeting is also expected to take place today where a new leadership will be voted into power.

Innocent Manyera is the outgoing HAZ national president. Delegates will also have a chance to visit majestic tourism sites in the Eastern Highlands such as Pamusangano Lodge and Forest Hills.

A presidential dinner will be hosted tonight to wrap up the  event.

Veteran hotelier Mr Leonard Bwanya said: “It was a worthwhile journey and I am wishing the incoming leadership a prosperous   term.”
