As the world battles to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, some people are living in fear. During this season, life might seem to be unfair and unbearable as the believers’ faith is being subjected to a test.

Faith in God may waver while lack of hope creeps in. This article seeks to highlight ways of maintaining strong faith in the Lord and handling this crisis.

Unwavering faith in the face of difficult situations is important. Through the security of God, life’s trials and challenges are easier to handle.

Psalms 118:8 says, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”

It is important to acknowledge that God cannot forsake His people, and believers must maintain positive confession that will strengthen faith when all hope seems lost.

Have you ever faced a tragedy that tested your faith? Maybe you know someone who lost faith in the midst of a crisis.

Similarly, churches have wavered in their faith because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, in the past, many churches that were being persecuted actually grew stronger.

Revitalised churches need unwavering faith that overcome fear. When church begins to accept the reality, it must have a radical approach to fight any form of fear. Jesus told the church at Smyrna, “Do not fear what you are about to suffer (Revelation 2:10).”

Their circumstances and sufferings were an attack, it means persecution was a test of their faith.

Steps to have unwavering faith in a crisis

Acknowledge your feelings

Do not pretend that just because you are a believer then you don’t feel any pain.

Everyone goes through difficult trials and bad situations in life.

However, it differs in magnitude and lose of faith can be experienced. Don’t run away from a crisis, don’t pretend it is not happening. Talk to others about your feelings. God can work miracles for you.

Embrace the pain

Say to yourself “lt hurts” and acknowledge it. Always remember that God can never give you what you cannot handle.

Instead, embrace the pain you feel and turn it into something positive.

Focus on finding clarity within the situation and pray for strength.

Allow your pain to turn you towards God.

In the Bible, Job cried out of pain, he was on trial for his faith. God wants us to cry out to Him in our time of need.

He loves us unconditionally and He welcomes us with open arms.

When we are in crisis, God wants us to turn to Him.

Don’t turn your back on God during life’s trials and crises. By turning your pain towards God, He will in turn give you hope.

Become desperate for God and begin to move in power

We overcome trials by the power of the Holy Spirit living in us. He matures and empowers you to become effective in His kingdom.

He wants you to have strong faith to overcome life’s hardest trials.

Have faith

Faith is what we don’t see. When facing hardships, you have to come to a place where you have 100 percent trust in God and believe by faith.

God said, “The plans I have for you are good.”

When you yield fully in the power of the Holy Spirit, He will begin to move powerfully in your life and you will fulfil every desire of your life.

You need to know that you serve a God who takes away pain and transforms it for His glory.

As this pandemic tries and tests believers’ faith, there is increasing weariness, anxiety, uncertainty and distress.

Let’s hold on, God is in control.

He is always working behind the scenes for His people. Covid-19 did not catch Him by surprise because He is God.
