Scramble up your egg routine!

Not only are eggs delicious, but they are also nutritious.

Filled with vitamins and protein, they are an inexpensive way to round out your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.

We are serving up the basics in terms of cooking an egg.

Here, are some ways to cook an egg.

Including how to scramble, steam, hard boil, and the difference between sunny side up and over easy eggs.

Steamed

Water makes steamed eggs extremely tender, giving them a delicate custard-like texture.

Over Easy

Frying an egg on both sides ensures the egg white is fully cooked.

The yolk is still creamy, but more set than sunny side up.

Pro tip: If you like your eggs over hard (cooked egg yolk), just cook a few minutes longer.
Scrambled

Probably the most typical way to cook eggs is to scramble them.

Make sure the stove is set on low with gentle heat, and allow the eggs to start setting before scrambling.

Omelet

Omelets can be difficult to master.

But adding the fixings just before the egg mixture sets, and not overfilling reduces the risk for tearing when folding in half.

Baked

The easiest way to get a protein-filled breakfast.

Simply whisk together eggs and your desired toppings and bake in a muffin tin.

It does not get easier than that!

Sunny Side Up

Frying only one side of the egg leaves a creamy yolk, crispy edges, and gently-set egg whites.

Hard-boiled

Add enough water to your pot so that the eggs will be covered.

Before the water starts to boil, add your eggs.

Let it come to a boil.

Cover the pot with a lid and remove from heat.

How long you let the eggs sit in the water depends on how hard-boiled you like your hard-boiled eggs and also depends on the heat-retention ability of your pot.

Hard-boiled eggs differ from soft boiled eggs due to being cooked longer.

The yolk will be firm instead of runny making it a great addition to egg salad sandwiches.

Poached

Poaching eggs is all about the momentum you get while swirling the water.

Adding white distilled vinegar helps get the egg whites firm faster.

Top your next pasta dish with a poached egg and let the yolk run to add creaminess to the pasta dish.

Soft-boiled

A short boiling time creates smooth, silky whites with a still-fluid yolk.

We love using them as an avocado toast topper!

Devilled eggs are traditionally eaten as finger foods at parties in the spring and summer time, but they may be called “devilled” for a reason.

While delicious, deviled eggs can be prepared with lots of mayo and other unhealthy fats.

Do not fret, because there are easy ways to lighten up the little delicious bites.

Healthier Devilled Eggs:

6 hard boiled eggs, peeled and cut lengthwise,

¼ cup non fat plain Greek yogurt,

¼ t pepper,

1/8 t salt,

2 t Dijon mustard, and paprika for garnish.

Hard boil the eggs and let them sit still for 12 minutes.

Peel the eggs and cut them lengthwise, place the whites on a plate and yolks in a bowl, and add the rest of the ingredients (except paprika) to the yolks and mash everything together until well combined.

Put the mixture back into the egg whites, and sprinkle with paprika.

Keep in mind, eggs must be stored in the refrigerator and cooked thoroughly to provide full health benefits.

Anyone with high cholesterol levels should adhere to his or her doctor’s dietary recommendations regarding eggs. – Online.
