SIBLINGS, Dboi and Sparxx, the architects behind song-of-the-moment and wonder hit, Energy, recently launched a full album at a colorful ceremony that was graced by revered hip-hop, urban groove artistes and wheel spinners at Mutare Spar parking bay last Saturday.
Big Brother Africa The Chase housemate, Hakeem Mandaza, “Alleluya” hit maker, Roki, Nutty-O, Juicer Mpostori, Flexxo and DJ Tamuka from the Kenako Music Group spiced up the event that saw the two siblings launching the 10-track album that is laden with danceable tunes.
Popular local radio station, Diamond FM broadcasted the launch live. Celebrated local wheel spinners such as DJ Sachie, DJ Styles and DJ Que were part of the launch as well as the after-party held at Manicaland Motoring Club.
Scores of Mutareans stormed the Mutare Spar car park to watch the duo – real names Desmond (Dboi) and Dereck (Sparxx) Gopo – performing live most of the songs carried on the album including the anthemic, Energy which has received rave reviews ever since its release early this year.
Songs carried on the album are Siki Diki, featuring Nutty O, Diamond Boys, Zimbogal, Hinde, Bottle Store, I doubt and Mhamha.
Most songs were produced by rising producer, DJ Tamuka from Kenako Music.
“We feel inspired to see our fans supporting us like the way they did. It gave us the reason to soldier on and be better artistes. This is quite a milestone for us and we would like to promise our fans more good stuff in the near future,” said Dboi.
The siblings’ artistic ingenuity has shocked many and judging by the music pundits and lovers’ response and appreciation, they are destined to dizzy heights. The duo cut their musical teeth in 2015 when they released hip hop singles.
From the dusty streets of Dangamvura, the siblings will be among a crop of celebrated Zim-dancehall artistes who will be travelling to the United Kingdom in August for a series of shows such as Tocky Vibes, Shinsoman, Freeman, Empress Shelly and Jay C.
They will perform in Manchester, Luton and Leicester.
