THE ZIFA Manicaland Division Two soccer league, which has experienced one of the most outstanding seasons ever, has set aside prizes in cash and kind for outstanding teams and individuals when the curtain comes down on the 2018 season.

With seven matches to go, Midway FC is ruling the roost in Division 2A with 88 points.

The star-studded team, which has been one of the most consistent in the league, is leading second-placed DRC, which is a distant 11 points away.

In Division 2B league, Rating is on the apex of the equally competitive league with 68 points having played 28 matches.

Zifa Manicaland vice chairman, Gift ‘Transporter’ Mapinda said having realised that this season was one of the most exhilarating ones they decided to dish out prizes and accolades to top achievers.

“Under normal circumstances, the season should come to an end just before Christmas Pass. This time we are working on double headers so that we break early because 42 matches are not a joke.

“The season is running smoothly and we are happy that it is heading to the end in an exhilarating way. We actually started honouring outstanding players from the beginning of the season for away matches on particular weekends. We will also honour most disciplined teams and if resources permit, we will also award every best player for every team,” said Mapinda.
