FAST Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company — Global Brothers Wholesalers — is positioning itself strategically to increase its reach through a wide product range that will help them meet local demand and eventually expand its footprint into the region.

The company, which started in 2016, currently provides a wide range of products under its two departments in the groceries and liquor section trading as Madhadha Liquor Centre.

Global Brothers finance and administration manager, Ms Happiness Jengwa, said the company is looking forward to serving the community it is operating in.

“Global Brothers Wholesalers was formed by hard-working brothers with a shared vision, who got together and invested 15 cents to make it a dollar.

“Our vision is to enrich, empower and serve the community by offering good quality products at affordable prices, creating job opportunities especially to locals and of course making a profit,” she said.

The company has two branches in Harare and Mutare with a staff compliment of 50 employees comprising of permanent staff, casuals, graduate trainees and attachees.

Ms Jengwa said the wholesale business is doing very well and the company is looking forward to branching into production of its own products soon to enhance its portfolio.

Of importance are the linkages that the company has been fostering with Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) since retailers are already being offered low prices.

Global Brothers is also expecting to start partnering SMEs in Manicaland Province involved in the production and manufacturing of local products.

One such product already on their shelves is a new range of chips made from locally sourced bananas (Zeengaz Chips).

Ms Jengwa said while plans for penetrating the regional markets are in the pipeline, for now, the company is focusing on growing and creating good relations with customers, suppliers and the community at large.

“At the moment we are focusing on developing and enriching our home country, before we can expand internationally.

‘‘Part of our vision is to serve the community and we have been doing that by providing employment opportunities mostly to students from local colleges and universities for industrial attachment in different departments,” she said.

As an organisation seeking to enhance relations with the community it operates in, Global Brothers will tomorrow (Saturday) host a Fun Day that will allow the company to meet and interact with its suppliers, customers and the community.

“This is an opportunity for us to interact with our stakeholders and have fun.

“There will be lots of entertainment, braai, giveaways, lots and lots of discounts as well.

‘‘We will be enjoying just being one as a community,” said Ms Jengwa.
