THE recent commissioning of the Verify Engineering gases and solar plants at Feruka in Mutare has excited Manicaland’s business community.

President Mnangagwa commissioned the plants last week on Thursday as the Second Republic’s developmental drive continues to show signs of success.

Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries’ Manicaland president, Mr Joseph Mavhu described the development as a boon that will create employment for local people and also contribute immensely to the province’s Gross Domestic Product.

“The impact of this project on business is huge. It will contribute to saving people’s lives by providing the medical oxygen needed in hospitals, while also serving business with industrial gases.

“Also, when people’s lives are lost, it leaves businesses poorer. The fact that this project is going to be a manufacturing entity will see a lot of people being employed across the value chain; thereby reducing unemployment,” said Mr Mavhu.

Mr Mavhu said production within the business sector is set for a major boost as it will benefit from the plant’s capacity to meet national demand for the gases.
