Mutare City Council is facing a critical shortage of fuel that has crippled service delivery.

In a public statement released today the local authority said it was failing to collect refuse as well as attend to emergencies such as burst sewer pipelines.

“Notice is hereby given to all residents and stakeholders that the fuel challenges experienced in the country have affected service delivery… there will be numerous interruptions in service delivery programmes such as attending to water and sewer bursts and refuse collection,”reads the statement.

The local authority’s public relations manager Mr Spren Mtiwi said service delivery will normalise once council receives enough fuel supplies.
