HER love and passion for children led her to establish an early learning institution which is now a bastion for early childhood education in Manicaland Province.

She has since upped the game by opening a junior school which is set to see the first batch of candidates sitting for their Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) Grade Seven examinations this year.

This is the story of Kiddie College director and businesswoman, Mrs Nomsa Chiadzwa-Chave, who is basking in the glory of scooping the prestigious outstanding businesswoman award at the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network Manicaland provincial awards held at a local hotel recently.

She was honoured for her esoteric philosophical approach to business.

Kiddie College opened its doors in 2015 with just 39 learners in Dangamvura before the enrolment rose to 191.

The 34-year-old businesswoman’s phenomenal rise to stardom dates back to 2008 when she established a grocery shop and a bottle store in Chiadzwa.

She has several accolades in her cabinet, which include the 2018 Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce businesswoman of the year runner-up, as well as the 2021 ZNCC businesswoman of the year accolades.

Besides the learning institutions, Mrs Chiadzwa-Chave boasts of other businesses across Manicaland, including City Hills driving school as well as a booming plastic-ware shop in the city’s downtown area.

“It is an honour that reputable organisations from as far as Harare show up and remind you that you are a star.

“This recognition means a lot and I am happy that my business journey has been fruitful. It has not been easy, but with dedication, determination and courage, we have yielded positive results.

“We will continue offering the best learning services for children and we are happy that the first stream of candidates will sit for their examinations this year.

“It has been a tremendous stride and I am happy with the support that I get from my husband, Charles Chave, family, stakeholders as well as staff at Kiddy College who are dedicated and hardworking.

“We share the same vision with the staff and this makes the journey easy and worthwhile. I will continue working hard,” she said.

Her outstanding managerial acumen has also seen her teaming up with her husband to form Manicaland’s junior football outfit — Manicaland Juniors of Excellence (MAJESA).

The academy is making waves in junior soccer development after being crowned champions of the inaugural Marvellous Nakamba Under-17s tournament played in Bulawayo recently.
