UPCOMING Afro-pop and house musician, Takudzwa ‘Flot Boi’Mabaso and the Swiss Dance Crew is set to perform today at Nyanyadzi’s Humbic Night Club, popularly known as PaHarare.

This is in continuation with his Ten Strike Tour. The Ten Strike Tour began in October in preparation of Flot Boi’s new album launch set for end of this year.

Flot Boi has performed in Zambia and Botswana as part of fundraising for his project.

He has also done collaborations with house and Afro-pop musicians like Kelvin and Prince TM in Bulawayo and Lusaka, Zambia as part of the new album promotion.

Among the songs to be released is the track, Jaivha which has received considerable airplay on Mutare’s only radio station, Diamond FM.

Humbic Night Club spokesperson, Tawanda Nkomo, said it was an honour to be part of the 26-year-old singer’s fundraising project.

“It feels good being part of this whole thing and besides that, youths in Nyanyadzi and Chimanimani will begin their festive season in the right gear as we will be hosting this show for the first time in a long time.

“This is also a chance for them to watch, learn and copy as they can earn a living through music or dancing. I therefore urge people around Chimanimani to come in their numbers, not only for support, but also for fun as there shall be lots of beverages and meat for braai tonight,” said Nkomo.

Flot Boi left Mutare’s Externals Band to start his own music in 2011. He has performed in several functions around Manicaland and Zimbabwe with his Swiss Dance Group.

The dance group is made up of two ladies, Edna and Mimi as well as DJ Alvin.

In a telephone interview, Fot Boi, said: “Financial problems stalled our project over the past few years, but things are changing for the better.
The Ten Strike Tour has scaled me to greater heights and preparations for my new album launch are now at an advanced stage.
I will definitely release my album at the end of this month. I have had collaborations with musicians from Zambia and locally. I will do more collaborations with Mozambican artistes next week.”

Flot Boi started singing at an early age of 10 and is now a married man with one kid.
