FOLLOWING the relaxing of some of the Covid-19 pandemic measures, particularly on social gatherings and hosting of live shows, promoters and bar owners have started lining up gigs in various joints across Mutare and its peri-urban.

The Platinum (PaMupfumi)

SUNGURA kingpin and shrewd composer, Alick Macheso returns to his favourite hunting ground, The Platinum Leisure Centre, popularly known as PaMupfumi tomorrow (Saturday) after more than 18 months of non-action at the venue.

 

He will only play for five hours, from 4pm to 9pm because of the Covid-19 lockdown induced curfew.

 

Revellers will part with US$20, a move which is set to limit numbers of people that will be in attendance.

Rozvi Bar and Grill

ONE of Dangamvura’s most popular drinking spots, fondly known as Creche Yemadhara, is now open for open air entertainment, and this weekend versatile wheel spinner, DJ Stix, will entertain revellers from Friday to Sunday.

Club Mandisa

The venue situated in Mutare’s Central Business District has garnered more fun lovers after securing a strip tease licence, something that is a unique and rare form of entertainment in the eastern border city.

 

Pole dancers from Harare will descend on the joint starting Friday to Sunday.

Golden Peacock Villa Hotel

UPMARKET entertainment joint, Global housed at Golden Peacock Villa Hotel will tonight (Friday) host rising Afro-Jazz sensation, Rutendo Jackie who last night launched a new video for the song Nguva.

 

Jackie will perform with a star-studied live band, Afro Blues. Diamond FM’s wheel spinner, DJ Mshez will support the jazz diva in a potentially-explosive gig.

Dhunza Bar and Grill

FAST-RISING and newly established entertainment joint, Dhunza Bar, situated in the sprawling suburb of Dangamvura, at Boka Complex, will host Mutare’s most popular and oldest wheel spinner, DJ Ranga, fondly known as Godfather, on Sunday in a show dubbed: Old Skool Mantra.

 

He is expected to take revellers down the memory lane with classics from across several genres.

 

He will be supported by residents deejays, Rumble Don and Zincyard who will entertain fun lovers from Friday (tonight).

Makadzange Night Club (Rowa)

VETERAN deejay and Old Skool music specialist, DJ Ranga, on Saturday and Sunday entertains imbibers at the joint which is situated along Mutare-Masvingo Road near Rowa Training Centre.

Deze raWasu mbira gig

A MBIRA session which comprises upcoming and established mbira players which is aimed to celebrate Zimbabwean traditional music will today ( Friday) hold a mbira gig dubbed: “Deze raWasu” on Alliance Francaise Harare and Bulawayo as well as Celebrate Africa Facebook pages.

Acoustic Thursdays at Cafe Allana

Newly established jazz band, Ikweyo, entertains jazz lovers every Thursday evening at Cafe Allana which is situated in the Zimpost Building.

 

The jazz group which includes talented singer and Assegai Crew lead vocalist, Massy Mbutsa, serenades fun lovers with own compositions and renditions.

Templeman (Godfather) and Garry B at Villa Spot

CELEBRATED Harare-based wheel spinners and Mcees, Templeman and Garry B (MaGunvosta) will take turns to entertain revellers at Villa Spot Nite Club as part of the proprietor Boss Zhake’s birthday celebration next Saturday.

 

The formidable quartet of resident wheel spinners, who include Quick DJ, SlimPhat, Shamie D, DJ Brizz will take turns to entertain revellers on the special day
