CITY of Mutare has dismissed reports that there is a shortage of Covid-19 second dose vaccines at the local authority’s health facilities and vaccination centres around the city.

This follows claims that several people have been turned away at some vaccination points by health workers who indicated that they had run out of the second jab.

The city’s acting Health Services Director, Dr Kudzai Murembwe, said both the first and second doses are available at various centres and clinics across the city.

“It is not true that we do not have the two doses of the Covid-19 vaccines. The correct position is that we have both jabs readily available at our health facilities. Anyone who wishes to get inoculated can go to our vaccination centres and receive the doses,” said Dr Murembwe.

Dr Murembwe encouraged people in Mutare to get fully vaccinated with the two doses as this is done free of charge.
She added that the city is always ready to provide the required health services.
