A DANGAMVURA man (23) told a Mutare court that drugs help him ease stress following his arrest for possessing illicit substances.
Dylan Dozva said this when he appeared before magistrate, Ms Prisca Manhibi after he was caught in possession of 2x100mls of the banned BronCleer cough syrup as well as six sachets and two twists of dagger.
He pleaded guilty to the charges, saying he used the drugs to get rid of stress.
“Your worship, I keep and use these to get rid of uneasiness. They also help me to stay focused on whatever I will be doing, including my work,” said Dozva.
Prosecuting, Ms Tinotenda Muzondo said on August 31, police detectives were on patrol near Mukwena Store in Dangamvura when they received a tip-off that the accused was in possession of drugs.
They approached and searched him and recovered the drugs in his small bag.
The recovered drugs weighed 42g.
Dozva was sentenced to three months in prison or to pay a fine of $10 500.
