THE ZIFA Manicaland Division Two A race for a ticket to Eastern Region Division One promotion playoffs will be decided on the final day of the season  tomorrow (Saturday).

For promotion into the Eastern Region Division One, top two teams from Manicaland Division Two A and B leagues will have playoffs and the winner will be promoted.

From Two B, Rusitu Tigers of Chimanimani and Tongogara from Tongogara Refugee Camp have already secured places in the playoffs that will be played on December 10.

However, for Division Two A, second placed Scorpion Empire will lock horns with Mutare Farm Supplies Group, while Real Mutare will entertain third placed Final Touch in the final round of the 2022 season matches tomorrow (Saturday).

Log leaders, Midway have already secured a place in the playoffs, while either Scorpion and Final Touch will get a place in the playoffs after this weekend’s final round of league matches.

In the December 10 playoffs, Rusitu Tigers are set to face either Final Touch or Scorpion Empire at Rusitu in Chimanimani, while Midway will play against Tongogara at Midway in Rusape.

Finals will be played on December 17 at a venue still to be decided.

Last season’s playoffs final was played at Africa University grounds.

ZIFA Manicaland administrator, Kundai Makwarise expressed satisfaction at the level of competition in the leagues.

“We are happy that our clubs managed to finish off the season under very difficult circumstances whereby operational costs are generally prohibitive.

“We are also excited with the level of competition showcased by our clubs and this explains why the top two teams that will feature in the playoffs are now being decided on the last day of the season.

“As league administrators, we are looking forward to a happy ending where the best teams of the season compete in the playoffs and the best one gets promoted. We have no doubt that the one to be promoted to the Eastern Region Division One will be a good advert to our standards of the competition,” said Makwarise.
