THE Environmental Management Agency (Manicaland) has expressed concern over rampant sand poaching occurring mainly in Mutare Rural District, saying it has resulted in land degradation and destruction of grazing land.

EMA provincial manager Mr Kingstone Chitotombe urged people who want sand for construction purposes to approach the rural district council for assistance so that they are shown the designated sites where they can get it.

He also warned that those caught on the wrong side of the law will be arrested.
