SAKUBVA-BRED former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Willard Katsande has described his move to newly promoted South African Premiership side Sekhukhune United as exciting, saying he is looking forward to the new chapter of his career with zest.

The hard-tackling footballer was yesterday unveiled by the top-flight league newcomers as one of the new five arrivals alongside compatriot and ex-CAPS United star Blessing Sarupinda.

He joins on a two-year deal.

Katsande’s switch to Babina Noko follows his release by Amakhosi after a decade of service at the Soweto giants, who had reportedly offered him a technical role at the expiry of his contract.

However, the seasoned 35-year-old said he was keen to continue playing as he felt he still had the legs and decided to move on.

Sharing his sentiments about his switch to Sekhukhune United, the former Warriors skipper wrote on his Twitter handle: “New chapter of my journey. Same energy, same attitude, same commitment.”
