CHURCHES that have partnered the Ministry of Health and Child Care to have their congregants vaccinated against Covid-19 have been commended for the progressive initiative.

Speaking during a meeting with the Manicaland provincial Covid-19 taskforce in Mutare recently, Minister Mutsvangwa said it is through such collaborative efforts that the fight against coronavirus can be won as Zimbabwe continues to make huge strides in mitigating the impact of the disease through measures like the vaccination programme.

“It is good to note that churches have joined hands in the fight against coronavirus by embracing the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. They have stepped forward and approached the Health Ministry to have their congregants inoculated.

“As Government, we appreciate that they are playing their part and this will go a long way in ensuring that the country achieves herd immunity,” said Minister Mutsvangwa.

She encouraged different religious denominations to follow suit.

Minister Mutsvangwa also called on parents and guardians with children aged 14 and above to have them receive the jabs, especially those who participate in sporting activities.
